Course overview

You need to take this course if you select, store, use or fit abrasive wheels. You’ll learn how to correctly select, inspect and mount different types of abrasive wheels (specifically types 1, 37, 41 and 42). You’ll learn how to store them safely and check them for damage – and how to prevent accidents.

Why you need this course

If you’re using abrasive wheels in your work you must have training to comply with Health and Safety legislation to prevent the risk of accidents. But also you need to know about the correct handling and mounting of abrasive wheels (including pre-mounting and storing procedures) to reduce the risk of bursting.

  • About the European system of marking and how it helps you to choose the ideal disk for the job you are doing

  • Environment in which abrasive wheels should / should not be used
  • Storage, mounting and inspection of wheels
  • Why and how to keep a record of your abrasive wheels training

What you'll get at the end of it

After taking a multiple choice test at the end of the session you’ll get an OTJ Training certificate of competence (valid for 5 years).
