Course overview

You need to take this course if your work involves using access towers or low-level podiums. You’ll get hands-on practical experience and a theory test of your knowledge at the end of the course.

Why you need this course

If you’re working at height (at a high or low level) you need to know how to use the right equipment and how to inspect / assemble / move / dismantle it. You’ll also need an overview of Work At Height legislation.

  • About British and European Standards for components / inspection / tower assembly / tower dismantling
  • How to inspect mobile access towers – and create Inspection Records for these

  • About different types of low level podiums and access units
  • Your responsibilities when using access towers

NB Bring your own personal protective equipment for this course. You’ll need:

  • Safety helmet with chin strap
  • Gloves
  • Hi-visibility vest
  • Safety footwear

What you'll get at the end of it

When we’ve assessed you (with practical and theory tests) you’ll get a Certificate of Competency and a Photo-ID Card will be issued that is valid for five years. Your name will also be added to the PASMA database
